Tamara Hamlin graduated
cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania
with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Latin American literature.
She is active in Girl Scouts/Niñas
Exploradoras and her children’s elementary school P.T.A. Her
main professional interest concerns multicultural education and equity
in public education. After completing her MAT., she hopes teach in an
Atlanta area middle school.

Megan Meyers graduated from Covington Latin High School in Covington, Kentucky. She then attended DePauw University,where she received a Bachelor of Arts in history, with a minor in political science. During college, she was active in political organizations, the debate team, and student congress. She also was a tutor/consultant at the DePauw Speaking and Listening Center, where she provided peer help for other students in the area of speaking skills, presentations, and interviews. She is pursuing an MAT degree in secondary social studies. | |

Carrie Petty graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Carrie's experiences as a tutor helped her decide to become a teacher. As an undergraduate, she tutored sophomore world history students at Druid Hills High School. In her senior year at Emory, she was a tutor for college-level United States history. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, listening to music, and watching sports. | |

Susan Ross graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (B.S.F.S.) in international economics from Georgetown University and later received a Masters in Public and Private Management (M.P.P.M.) from Yale University. Susan has lived and worked in a number of countries including Honduras, Nicaragua, Haiti, and Bangladesh. She hopes to bring her experience in a number of world cultures to teaching social studies in the classroom. Susan enjoys reading, biking and most of all, spending time with her family. | |

Cullen Sacha received a Bachelor of Arts in history and philosophy from the University of Georgia in 2002. In 2004, he received an Master of Arts in philosophy from Georgia State University. He is planning to continue with the social sciences by teaching secondary social studies upon completing the MAT program. His hobbies include running, reading, and traveling, as well as spending time with his friends and family. | |

Benjamin Skillman received a Bachelor of Arts at Tulane University. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, he came to teaching from the video/film production industry. Ben is regretfully leaving the kindergarten class to teach social sciences to fifth and sixth graders. | |

Tai Torky was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, to an American mother and an Egyptian father. Tai obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science at the American University in Cairo. There, Tai participated in the Model U.N., Model Arab League and the International Student Leadership Conference. Tai’s hobbies include softball (certified ASA Umpire), soccer, scuba diving (certified PADI open water diver), and desert safaris. Tai has traveled all over Europe, North America and the Middle East, and intends to continue her travels around the world. | |
