Elon Cherry graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy. She graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Masters of Business Administration in management. Her primary emphasis of study is in middle grades mathematics. She has taught 6th grade math for two years. Prior to becoming a teacher, Elon was an Air Force security police officer and an accounting & finance director. She enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and watching movies. |

Angela Crowe recently graduated from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics. She is enthusiastic to be a part of Emory's MAT program. Some of the many reasons she chose to come to Emory were the program's heavy emphasis on classroom experience and the faculty's energy in preparing teachers. Upon completion of the program, she hopes to return to St. Louis to teach and make community service opportunities available to her students. Aside from studies, Angie enjoys going to the gym, snowboarding, and drawing. | |

Stephanie Hicks was born in Louisiana, but has lived in Georgia for more than twenty years. She attended school in Georgia public schools. Stephanie graduated from Sandy Creek High School. She attended Emory University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and education. She also minored in Spanish. After completing that stage of her education, she entered Emory University’s Master of Arts in Teaching program, where she specialized in secondary mathematics. Stephanie enjoys reading, watching movies, and cross-stitching. | |

Kevin Landesman graduated in 2003 from Emory University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a second major in educational studies. He is planning to teach secondary mathematics in a metro Atlanta school upon completing the MAT program. He also serves as an SAT instructor and teacher trainer for Kaplan Test Prep. In his free time, Kevin enjoys anything related to golf, rooting for New York sports teams, cruising in the Caribbean, and spending time with his papillon puppy. | |

Khaliah Morrison graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 2004. Her emphasis of study is secondary mathematics. After graduating from the Emory MAT program she plans on teaching in an urban setting; she has no preference in the exact location. Khaliah enjoys poetry, movies, and socializing in her free time. | |

Jennifer Owens graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in educational studies from Emory University in May 2004. After completion of the MAT program, she hopes to teach mathematics and science in a local Atlanta middle school. She enjoys dancing, basketball, swimming, poetry and long walks on the beach. | |

Shari Rifkin graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. While at Georgia Tech, Shari worked for NASA/Johnson Space Center and Lockheed Martin Aerospace. Shari is currently in Emory University's MAT program for secondary mathematics, and hopes to teach high school calculus, statistics, astronomy, and coach the Science Olympiad team. Shari is also a huge science fiction fan, and her favorites include Star Trek, Star Wars, and the Dune Chronicles by Frank Herbert. | |

Rod Twyman graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and a minor in mathematics from Oklahoma State University in 2001. He has taught algebras I and II, geometry, business math, and practical math at the high school level. Rod is currently in the 2004-2005 Master of Arts (MAT) in Teaching program for secondary mathematics at Emory University. His goal is to continue teaching high school mathematics. In addition, he is an aficionado of both “speed chess” and the latest trends in molecular biology. | |
