This is where we live. It's called the North Decatur Building. Soon, it will be Someone's Hall, but not quite yet. We have a bit of a love-hate relationship with what the students affectionately call the North Dakota Building. One reason for this is that, as you might have guessed from its nickname, it's not exactly in the center of campus. We're only five minutes away, mind you, but we are "across the street," and we miss the hubbub of campus life. We don't get to see confused undergraduates chasing butterflies outside our window or running around in circles until they pass out as they are so fond of doing on lazy spring days. And, to tell the truth, it's rather a cold and impersonal structure. You may also have noticed that it's round, so all the offices are crooked. And there are big columns in the most peculiar places. Really. Sometimes right in the middle of an otherwise open space. Do not walk and read. Trust me on this. But we do have our very own parking deck (well, we share it with the law school, but we think of it as ours) with, and this is important, a covered walkway into our own floor! Very convenient on rainy days. Of course, it's really slippery when wet and you have to hold on to the railing really tightly or risk multiple bone fractures. But I digress. Our classrooms are also "just down the hall" and they are loaded to the hilt with the latest technological gizmos, including a lovely SmartBoard which, regrettably, isn't really as smart as she's cracked up to be but is nice nonetheless. So there you are. Home, sweet home. Oh, yes, we're on the second floor. On the right. And the inhabitants are friendly.

In this photograph the building has a Tower of Pisa thing going. We don't think it actually leans. Come to think of it, though, that would explain a lot of stuff.
