What I learned from Johnny U

I learned that it's important to do your best all the time. I learned that, if you love what you do, even practice is fun. I learned that work is really just a game. I learned that there's a new game every week. I learned that you can't win all the time. I learned that, when you lose, you should just walk off the field and get on with your life.
I learned that you can't complete a pass without risking an interception. I learned that, if you play hard, you will get hurt. I learned that you shouldn't complain when you're hurt. I learned that you shouldn't chum around with the other players. I learned that it's best to just stoop your shoulders and keep your head down. Most important, I learned that you should always call your own plays.

Farewell my friend. You enriched, perhaps even defined, my youth, and I will miss you.
But I take comfort knowing that your body is now whole and your arm is again golden.
